Boulder/Broomfield County Foster/Adoptive Family Association

BBFFA AWARDS

Eddy Schoech Award

A person or group who has given outstanding service to foster parents

Eddy Schoech was the director of BCDSS from 1976 until his death of a brain tumor in 1981.  Eddy came to Boulder County by way of Jefferson County.  He was a strong advocate for the foster parents of Boulder County.  He valued the contributions foster parents made to the Agency, and he especially valued their work with our children.  He knew that foster parents make a difference in the lives of the children/adolescents they take into their homes.  He set the standard for caseworkers to follow, such as including foster parents in their case planning, court hearings, and communication issues long before it was a regulation, part of a settlement agreement, or fashionable.  The award was created to honor those who have provided outstanding service to foster parents.
